3.12.5. Annotate Overlapping Genes

This algorithm annotates breakends against overlapping genes based on the clinically relevant transcript. The algorithm produces a number of fields for each rearrangement. These fields are documented in the field documentation produced by the computation. For details on the heuristics used to select clinically relevant transcripts see Gene and Transcript Preferences.

An gene source is needed to run the algorithm.

A single column group will be created, which collapses overlapping annotations to produce a clinically relevant annotation. If multiple genes overlap either side of the rearrangement then the results will be joined together in a list for each fusion pair.
